Description
Victron Digital Multicontrol also has other important features.
The display shows the current drawn from shore or from the grid.
This is adjustable.
If you share a course with other boats or other users, the course can easily become overloaded.
With the adjustment knob, you can adjust the current draw from shore so that no more than 5 amps is ever drawn, for example.
This means that you can share a course with others.
What you achieve is that you can still charge the batteries but a little more slowly. For example, when the water heater turns on, the Victron Multiplus or Quattro never draws more than 5 amps from shore and power beyond 5 amps (approx. 1150 watts) is drawn from the batteries. As soon as the thermostat in the water heater turns off, there is more than enough power left to charge the batteries and for consumption.
This is a brilliant solution.
If you have a unit that delivers less than 16 amps at 230 volts (3680 watts continuous), you can adjust the current draw of the Multiplus / Quattro so that you do not kill the unit.
Conclusion: If you buy a Victron Multiplus or Quattro, we recommend that you also invest in a Victron Digital Mukticontrol.
