VictronEnergy has created a simple but nice video where they go through easy setup and connection of Victron Cerbo GX, in addition to the contents of the box.
Further down on this page, we go through step by step how to connect with screenshots.
The first step in the process is to create a Victron VRM user.
You can do this at https://vrm.victronenergy.com/login
Here we only need to create the user.
Come back here when registering a Victron unit later.
Now you have a VRM user, but without connected equipment.
Remember to verify your email!
You can skip steps 2. through 4. if you are using a GXTouch monitor.
Download the VictronConnect app at AppStore or GooglePlay.
If you don't have a GXTouch device, you can remotely control your CerboGX device via "Remote Console" by using your mobile as a screen for CerboGX.
VictronConnect is also used to monitor, configure and update all your Victron Smart equipment.
As you don't have a GXTouch display, your mobile phone will have to act as a screen for setting up WiFi and accessing the VRM.
Let's start with the VictronConnect app, here you will find your CerboGX. Click on it, the default pin code for the devices is either 4,6 or 8 zeros.
After accessing your device, you will see this screen:
Here you can change the name and pin code of the device, use your mobile as a screen, as well as access the VRM portal.
Here you need to click on "REMOTE CONSOLE". This allows you to access Cerboen as if you had a GXTouch screen.
Connect to WiFi - This can be done with regular WiFi, wired network or mobile hotspot. Here it is recommended to use the fixed network in the boat.
Update CerboGX - Important that the latest update is installed.
Adding CerboGX to the VRM portal consists of several steps.
Once logged in you will see an overview of equipment you can add. If not, click on the "Victron Energy" logo top left, and then a blue button with "Add Installation".
Victron offers a range of options that can be used with CerboGX. Here are some examples:
Connects to CerboGX via Bluetooth.
Allows you to be monitored temperature, air humidity, air pressure and movement.
External display for your CerboGX.
With GXTouch, you get a full overview of your entire installation via one screen.
Victron GXTank allows you to connect your tank gauges, such as diesel tanks, water tanks, gray water tanks and more.
